Yardwork Day...

Today we did some work on our yard. It was absolutely gorgeous! Sunny, not humid, about 75 degrees... perfect!! We laid new mulch, planted some annuals and created made some potted plant arrangements. Here's the finished product...

This is my hydrangea I planted last year. I know nothing about gardening... Am I supposed to trim off those old sticks?

Columbia

We went to Columbia last weekend to visit friends. Bud and I ran/walked a 5k. Then Bud went to the Spring Mizzou game with the guys. The ladies stayed home with the babies. It was fun hanging out with people again and being with the babies made me excited about our son's arrival in the near future. Bud was great with the babies (as always)...
This was taken right before Clark (6 months) grabbed a fistful of Gaby's (10 months) hair.
We had to buy baby Lutz his first Mizzou gear while there...

This is from last weekend... Clara watching us paint. She would sneak in the room and as soon as we turned around, she would lay down. She really did pretty good... I thought we'd have to lock her up, but she listened really well and left the room when we told her to.

Advice Needed

People keep making comments about my growing belly... For example, "You're really getting big." "Look at that belly." etc. I like the attention, but I never know how to respond. I don't think it would be appreciated if I said, "You too!" Ever since I got pregnant I've wanted to give the "I'm not pregnant." response to a reference to my being pregnant, but these people all know I'm pregnant so that doesn't work for them...

Any suggestions for a humorous, yet appropriate response?

Pregnancy Pictures...

I'm embarrased putting this picture up on here, but it's the only one that shows a little bump... and people want to see me getting fat. So, this is me at 24 weeks pregnant. I'll try to get some better pictures gathered soon.

A Surprise Visitor

Last weekend, we had an unexpected visitor that decided to spend Friday evening and most of the day Saturday with us.

We made him stay outside, but he didn't mind too much. He made himself a comfy bed near our air conditioning unit.

Clara was very interested in the visitor. She nearly jumped through the screen.

We had to close the window because she really wanted to get to that racoon. However, she still tried to get as close as possible...

She spent the entire day running from the bedroom window, to the front door, to the patio door, and back again. So, all day Sunday, she slept :) YEAH!

People have been asking about plans for the nursery, so I thought I'd post some pictures. We haven't started doing anything yet, but here is the crib...

We are planning on painting the walls green and putting the name (a secret) up on the wall as well as some other decorative items. As it will take a while for the furniture to come in, the room will not be completed for a while. However, at least you can picture it now! In case you cared :)

I thought it would be good to keep a record of the things happening in our lives... since everything is about to change. So, I've started this blog. We'll see how it goes.

Just as an update... I'm pregnant with a baby boy. He is due July 25 and everything is going excellently so far. I've had minimal sickness, no problems what so ever, and am feeling him move around all the time now. He seems to be very active :) We are preparing the nursery. We bought furniture and bedding so far. Now we just need to paint and put everything in its place. Yeah!
