Please Touch Museum

Through various Christmas gifts (thanks Ketti and the Great Grandma's!), the kids were able to get a membership to the Please Touch Museum ("The kids museum" as Sam calls it). We've already been twice. This place is so fun, especially for my kids ages. There is even a lot for Emma to do and several areas set aside for little ones where they won't get trampled.
The "river"...
 The hospital...

 Sam loved the "otorcycle"...
 McDonalds servers...
 The music area...
Sam also loves the digger that actually moves to pick up the balls...
Emma likes to climb on anything and everything...
Astronaut Sam... This room has little foam rockets that you can fire off using air blasts. Every time someone would push the button to shoot off their rocket, Emma would startle, cling to me tightly, then giggle. It was so funny!
And, a nice quiet drive home...
Last weekend we went with Papa. Emma LOVED the slide...
 And, climbing on the rocks...
 More music...
Driving so early...
This little area reminds me of Mayberry! It has a little porch and rocking chair. Along with a garden, tea party set up, little red wagon. All mini sized... so cute!

SNOW!

We finally got some snow! Sam remembered his favorite snowy activity... eating snow.
And, taught his little sister to do the same...
They LOVED the sled. I am exhausted from pulling them around on it. "Run mommy Run faster!" I heard when we went out without Emma.
He helped pull sister, which she thought was the best!
And, of course, we go no where without our milk. :)
We tried to build a snowman, but the snow was too fluffy. Sam thought we needed to get some tape to make it stick. :) He did learn how to make snow angels and loved swinging in the cold, but those pics are still on the camera. I'll probably post them later.

Zoo

It was 55 degrees last weekend, so we took a the opportunity to use our zoo membership. (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!!) The kids really enjoyed it and it was a beautiful day to be outside... hard to believe it was January.

Look how close! The lion's were sunning themselves by the viewing window. According to Sam, this is "Alex" (the Lion from Madagascar).

 The tiger... "M-I-Z... Z-O-U!"

There were peacocks roaming all over the place. Samuel chased this one for a while.
The treehouse has lots of indoor climbing equipment, games, puzzles, etc. They both loved climbing and exploring, but Samuel was moving too fast for me to get any pictures of him!

Looking forward to many more days at the zoo this year!

Who needs snow?

It's January, it's cold, but we've had no snow since October! This fact, is not stopping Sam and Emma from enjoying the sled while it sits in the hallway waiting for a winter wonderland. Emma climbed in and out of it a hundred times and Sam enjoyed pulling Emma across the carpet.

And, the box the sled came in is pretty fun to play with too...

Emma's One Year Photo Shoot

I finally got around to taking Emma's one year old photos. Having a December birthday pushed this type of thing off a bit, but I don't think she looks much different a month later. :) The cake pictures I took at her birthday because i didn't want to make another cake. I'm pretty sure I already posted these, but wanted them all in one place, so I'm reposting. The others were taken yesterday. I just love this girl! She's such a happy little lady (most of the time) and loves to perform for the camera!

I might have gone overboard with the artsy-ness on this one, what do you think? I might try it again someday after cleaning the window and moving her over a smidge.

Again, an attempt at being artsy... I don't know what I think of it.
