A Boy and His Dog
Clara and Sam have really taken to each other nicely. Clara likes to lick Sam's face, but other than that she leaves him alone. He has started watching her and smiling at her while laying on the bed. Clara still freaks out when we try to take a picture of her, so these were taken with my phone camera... thus the fuzziness.

Samuel has been hanging out with this group of friends since he was just a wee little thing (3 weeks old), but we have yet to get pictures of them all together. We got a few last week, although Chaucer and Xander didn't make it into the photo shoot. It's hard to get pictures with all these kids!!

This is Ellie, Drew (both 5 months), Samuel, and Kellen (9 months).

Pumpkin Wins... New Poll.
As the vote decided, Samuel will be a pumpkin for Halloween. I'm glad pumpkin won because I already have the costume :) (Thanks Abbey). Right now, Clara's poll is still tied. Although, I'm leaning towards her being herself so that I don't have to come up with a costume for her. But, that poll will be open until tomorrow.
Now, it's time to vote in 2 new surveys. As most bloggers will agree, I don't ever know if my blog is being read and who is reading it. So, I've set up a new poll for you to easily tell me if you read, how often you read, and who you are so that I can better communicate with my readers. Thanks for the input.

Just a reminder... Samuel has an e-mail address.
Samuel.lutz@gmail.com
He asked me to check his email today and was a little dissappointed when there was nothing there. I know I'm being really cheesy right now :)

Pumpkin Patch
We took Samuel to the pumpkin patch this past weekend. He fell asleep the second we pulled into the parking lot and then woke up to have his picture taken in front of the sign.
We went and cut our pumpkins off the vine and then went for a hayride, where he fell asleep again.
Later that evening, we went to some friends' house. Samuel was overtired from his big day at the pumpkin patch, but he just didn't want to miss the party. So, he was fighting sleep. In order to calm him down we had to borrow Lexi's pink swing. He didn't seem to mind too much and fell right to sleep.
Clara got to come along too. She met Scout and they played in the backyard while hung out. They wouldn't pose for a great picture... this is the best I got. At least they are both in the picture and it's not blurry from them running so fast :)

First tailgate
We took a trip to Columbia last weekend so that Samuel could be a part of the festivities surrounding a Mizzou football game. He didn't actually get to go to the game, but he did hang out at the tailgate. He did surprisingly well all weekend. Friday night we went to a very late dinner (11pm) when we got into town. Yes, we were those people with the baby in the bar :) But, he was sleeping for the past 5 hours on the drive, so he was ready to party! Saturday we went to his friend Clark's first birthday party. I forgot my camera, so for pictures you'll have to check out Gaby or Clark's blogs. Then we headed to the tailgate. Sam spent some time sleeping in the car and some time being passed around the circle. My friend Abbey then picked him up to watch the game from the comforts of her home. Apparently he did well for her, at least she didn't tell me otherwise :) Then we drove back on Sunday. About 30 minutes he started SCREAMING as loud as he could. So, we pulled the car over and calmed him down a little and then got back on the road. I still have no idea what caused the screaming. I think he was just done with all the traveling... as were the rest of us! But, it was a good trip. We didn't get to see everyone we wanted to see, which is always the case when we go to Columbia. I guess we need to plan another trip soon! :) And now, what you all have been waiting for... the PICTURES!

Many updates needed...
I have been thinking about updating this blog for a while now, but have not found the time to do it yet. First, I need to write more about our trip to Nashville. I got interrupted by a crying baby before I could finish the post :) And, it appears as if the same thing is going to happen now... okay, I'm back.
We headed out to Nashville on the 9 hour drive last Friday. Samuel did great in the car. I'm glad I had Bud with me though... originally I was going to go by myself. I was able to sit in the back seat with Samuel and give him a bottle without stopping to feed him which definitely helped the trip go faster. He slept, played with his carseat toy, and ate most of the way without much fussing. As soon as we pulled of the highway, 10 minutes from my parents house, Samuel started screaming. It wasn't just a little fuss, or even a small yell, this was the loudest scream I had ever heard from him. We just tried to make it to their house figuring that once he was out of his carseat he would be better. However, he didn't stop when we got there. So, we came in with quite a bang :) He screamed for about an hour and then finally fell asleep. The trip home went off without a hitch. He was a little fussy when we got home and I figured that was because he missed the movement of the car... like we get rubber legs after being on a boat.
On Sunday night, my parents babysat for us while we headed out on a date. We went to downtown Nashville to some of the "honky-tonks" as my mom called them. We heard some good music and enjoyed hanging out without the boy, although it was hard to not talk about him the whole time. While walking around we saw Gene Simmons (from Kiss) and John Rich (from Big and Rich).
While in town, I also went shopping with mom AND LAUREN, kayaking with dad, on a double date with my parents (and Sam tagged along) and hung out at the house with my grandparents AND SISTERS. It was a great trip! I wish it was closer so we could do it more often. Bud took 3 days off work to make the trip... that made the visit a lot less rushed.

2 Months Old
Samuel celebrated his 2 month old birthday last week. Well, okay, we celebrated by going to the doctor and staying quarantined from others because Samuel had a stomach bug. We had to postpone his 2 month check up because of this. They didn't want to give him his vaccinations while he was sick. So, we go in today to get checked out... however they might still not give him his vaccines because he got sick again this morning. The Doc did weigh him last week... he was 11 lbs and 3 oz (20th percentile). We didn't get his length yet, but will get that today. He's tall and skinny :) Here is his 2 month pic...
UPDATE: Samuel got all his vaccinations. The Dr. said his throwing up was nothing to be concerned about. He weighed 11 lbs 4 oz (25th%-50th% - depending on where I look it up) and was 24 inches long (90th%).
