Random December

So many baby smiles…
Helping make cookies and bake breads many times throughout the month…

 Reading at school…
Letter to santa. "Dear Santa I want a football jersey 49ers number 21 and hockey guys. Can i have it please?"
My wise man…
 Sheep…
 And baby Jesus…
 Emma refused to walk alone…
 More baby smiles…
A bigger big girl bed is in process, although we haven't officially made the switch…
My grandma passed away and we got caught in a blizzard during the funeral. My mom captured this picture of all the men carrying her casket in the snow storm (while the rest of us waited in our warm cars). Such a neat picture of their honor of grandma…
We had fun at the hotel gym and pool...

Happy December! Christmas Pictures coming soon.

Snow Day Birthday

For my birthday, we had a snow day so we enjoyed a quiet day at home. We played in the snow, played together happily(!), and did some baking. It was wonderful! And the next day I got my wisdom teeth out… fun birthday. :)
Eating snow. Why do they always do this?!?

We finally convinced him that sometimes football players wear coats. "This can be like my jersey."

Snow Angels

Tackled.

We attempted a snowman, although the snow wasn't great for it.

"I'm holding his hand."

Hot Chocolate!!

Tummy time
(A very rare occurrence with all the dancing and football that goes on around here.)

2 Months Old

Lily is now 2 months old!
- She's showing so much more personality now. She smiles and chats with us a few times every day. She's the only baby I know that actually says "goo goo, ga ga" when she talks. She gets really excited when we cary on a conversation with her.
- She's sleeping well. We try to get her down right after the big kids, but it usually takes a couple hours to get her settled into a deep sleep. I dream feed her around 10, she's up at 4ish, then up for the day around 7:30. During the day, she's' usually up for about an hour after each feeding, then down for a 2 hour nap. She usually needs a pacifier to get her back to sleep a few times during each nap and sometimes at night too. And, poor third child rarely naps in her bed… she rotates from her carseat, to her swing, to someones arms, to the Mobi wrap, and occasionally in her cradle. She has also yet to sleep in the pack and play for more than 30 minutes. She sleeps well being swaddled in her cradle and I hate to mess with a good thing. A few times she has slept from 10-6! Hoping for more of that in the coming weeks, although I'm not complaining. :)
- We are still trying to figure out some tummy issues. She's on reflux meds, I've given up dairy, and I'm feeding her more slowly. She was acting like she was in pain after feedings and this combination seems to be helping. However, we aren't sure whats really making it better.
- She weighs 12 pounds, 12 ounces (90%) and is 22 inches long (50%).

Holding her in the magic position (football hold) that helps her belly.

I laid her on the floor for a second, came back to this. Emma tucked her in and gave her a lovey.

The bathtub is a great place for her to sit while giving the big kids a bath/shower.

So many smiles…

3 Years Old!

Emma's 3! We had such a fun time celebrating her birth last week. We stretched out the celebrations for over a week, which just makes things more fun. Emma at three
- Has so much to say and has remarkable verbal skills. She tells stories, carries on conversations, and can communicate her wants and needs when she wants to. However, a lot of times she likes to pretend she's a baby and use her baby words which are complete gibberish. :)
- She loves baby dolls, tea parties, and sleep parties.
- She enjoys reading books and making up stories to read to Lily.
- Emma is extremely proud of being the Big Sister and takes great care of her baby. She told me today while giving Lily a bath, "I'm the mommy too!" She loves to help with baths, diapers, and is always ready with a pacifier.
- Emma still takes a nap most afternoons, but she's not a complete disaster if she misses it. It's nice to be flexible, especially before Lily's nap schedule starts keeping us home.
- She loves to be goofy and make people laugh. She's also very considerate, always ready to comfort others. She often offers her "gee" (blankie) to sister or brother when they are upset. She also comforts her baby dolls with, "aww, it's okay. Big sister's here."
- She is a bit obsessed with Doc McStuffens. She loves to play doctor to Samuel or her toys. She sings the theme song all the time.

Party day

Her doctor was so sweet to check doggie's blood pressure too

Helping with party prep

Mom and I took her to see the Nutcracker. She really enjoyed it and has been trying to stand on her toes and twirl ever since.

She brought her nutcracker with her.

Party details. Lollipops, sugar plum fairy wands, and tutus.

Worn out after all the party guests left.

Matchy matchy Christmas girls.

Emma received a hair cut from her brother after the festivities were over. Its not too noticeable given her hair is usually pretty unruly anyway. :)
