B2 is a GIRL!!

Emma Jean Lutz was born at 7:51pm on December 4! She's 7 pounds, 4 ounces, 20 inches long. She's absolutely perfect! We are both doing well and even got some rest last night... some. I was totally surprised that she was a girl. I had convinced myself otherwise. I will be doing some online shopping for pink this afternoon. :)

Last pictures as a family of 3...
Samuel giving Emma kisses...
Pointing to all her body parts...
More pictures coming soon!

Some information I would like to remember and maybe you all would be interested as well...
- Labor was 11 hours
- Pushed for 4 minutes
- Water broke at 9AM, started Pitocin around 1PM, Epidural around 5, "It's a girl" at 7:51PM
- Bud cut the cord. A big feat for someone who gets light headed walking into a hospital.
- Bud was, yet again, an excellent coach! I love sharing this experience with him. He still thinks he should rent himself out as a labor coach, but I think nurse Heidi might think differently after he got queasy watching the anesthesiologist work. :)

Samuel's reaction...
He was concerned that "baby [was] crying" and he needed to make "baby happy now." He also mentioned sharing his trash trucks with "EEEEmma." He talked about her "stinky bipar" and pointed to all her facial features. He also started reciting his book, There's Nothing to Do Here (The one that I posted a video of a few weeks ago). But, for the most part he was happy playing with his Mr. Potato Head that Emma brought him and running around the room. He's going to be a great big brother and I look forward to watching Emma and Samuel grow up together!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving 2010 was spent in PA with the Pfister Pfamily. Being one week before my due date, I didn't feel like I could travel, so everyone came to us this year. It was my first year to host... although I did more planning than actual cooking on the day of. I enjoyed the help in the kitchen from everyone!!

The Pfister/Lutz families. We missed you Sister Big!!
In typical Pfister tradition, Dad, Lauren, Bud, and Wei Chi (Lauren's boyfriend) participated in a "Gobble Wobble" (a 5K race)...
Samuel loved having someone around who could actually play his guitar...
We had our first snow of the season... melted by dinner time, but enough to run around in.
We had our traditional "Turkey Bowl"...
Sam and I mostly watched from the nearby park.
The happy couple...
The other happy couple... Samuel loved having Wei Chi around to play with.

Reading already

We've read this book a lot lately, apparently to the point that Samuel has it memorized. It's such a cute book! The video doesn't give Samuel's skills justice, but you can get the idea. He has the entire book memorized with little prompting, but was a little squirmy and distracted tonight. I love that his finger is up his nose for half the video :)

So, here's Samuel's reading of Ma! There's Nothing to Do Here! by Barbara park (hope I'm not breaking any copyright laws by posting this...) :)

Fall Leaves Part 1

I love this time of year! Our backyard is gorgeous with the leaves changing and covering the ground. I raked our yard last weekend (trying to induce labor, to no avail :)) and within a few hours the grass was out of sight again, covered in beautiful leaves. So, maybe my raking did no good, but Sam had fun playing in my leaf piles.

There will likely be another fall photo session sometime soon. The leaves on the ground are now reds and yellows instead of just dead and brown. Simply gorgeous! God's creation is incredible!!

Big Boy Bed Part 2

So, the big boy bed wasn't such a big hit this night...
