Emma Update - 14 months!

I thought that now that Emma is over a year, I would move updates to every two months. So much has changed in the past two months! She is learning so much and exploring everything!
- Walked at 13.5 months (first steps at 12.5 months). Now, I would say she walks about 70% of the time. She still crawls if she wants to get somewhere fast, but is trying her hand at exploring on foot now.
- Talking (kinda). She says "A Da" (All done) and "da da" (bye bye). The only reason I know these are those words are that she signs or waves with them. :) She might also say "Da" (that), "baba" (Papa), "BA" (bottle), "dam" (Sam... haha) but not consistently yet.
- She had her first experience with pink eye, first significant fever, fourth ear infection, and two new teeth. Fun times!
- Her appetite seems to have diminished as she would rather be down roaming around then stop to eat.
- She dropped her morning nap! This makes are mornings so much more free, although on stay at home days she gets pretty cranky around 11.
- She started asking for things... pointing and grunting, but attempting to communicate non the less.
- Emma loves her baby dolls! She sits in her rocking chair, piles all five baby dolls on top of her, grabs her blanket and bottle, and rocks away. So funny how she is drawn to dolls and her brother never was... nature? or nurture? :)
- This no TV till two thing is for the birds! That would be totally fine if we were eating chicken nuggets every night, but the pre dinner hour around here is usually spent with a little Baby Einstein in the background.

I didn't actually take an "Official" 14 month picture, but here's some random ones from the past month...

Too sleepy for a diaper change...
As much as she loves her dolls, she also loves all of Samuel's toys...
 Sweet siblings...
She loves to climb in any box or basket around...
Wrestling or Tickle Fighting are common around here... Emma holds her own quite well.
Emma's favorite yoga pose...

 Helping mommy cook...
She loves puzzles and shape sorting toys (this toy has a circle, heart, and triangle block to put on the side)...
 And, she loves music...

Chore Chart

I have a little bit more help around the house now... well, not really. Samuel now has a chore chart that he works on every day (with a little help). He has always loved helping. It was time to give him more independence and let him be responsible for a few chores each day. I saw this set up on Pinterest and had great intentions of creating one 6 months ago, but finally stopped trying to make it cute and got it done! He loves doing his chores (I hope that continues, although I doubt it will :)).

Along with his chore chart we created a money tin that has three sections, one for spending, saving, and sharing. He gets three coins ("gold doubloons" thanks to Jake and the Neverland Pirates on Disney Channel) and puts one in each slot. When we go to church he takes the sharing section with him, when we go to the grocery he takes the spending section with him (although he said he wants to save it for a toy instead of candy, so he has yet to spend any), and the rest stays put.

Dancing Emma

Emma loves this song and requests to watch the movie regularly (by pointing at the tv and grunting or bringing me the remote). As soon as the song starts, she drops whatever she's doing and starts dancing. I have been known to sing this song in the car, at Walmart, anywhere really, to keep Emma calm for a few more minutes. :) Sorry for the dark video...

Springtime???

A week and a half ago...

Today...

I had to convince Samuel to come outside. He wanted to play his cello instead...
Look, no sand in her mouth! She's growing up so fast. :)
