9 Months Old

My Big girl is getting so big! She's such a sweetheart and I love her so much. This has been a really big month in her development!
- She started crawling at 8.5 months old.
- She went from eating pureed baby food to eating little pieces off our plates. She hates to be spoon fed, unless it's yogurt. She swats at the spoon and it splatters everywhere. So, we have stocked up on Cheerios, peas, crackers, bananas, black beans, etc and she is loving it!
- She signs more, waves hi/bye, and claps her hands.
- She can climb up the one step between our playroom and kitchen.
- She's added several several consonants to her babbles and carries on quite the conversations with us.
- Emma is usually sitting up playing when we go to get her out of her crib. I love to walk in and see her smiling at me.
- She can also pull up to her knees and sometimes her feet depending on the situation.
- She continues to be extremely social and has expressed a touch of separation anxiety. She cries if I walk away, but only if she's being left in a room alone. If other people are there, she's content.
- Emma and Sam are becoming best friends. Sam loves to see her achieve new accomplishments and loves to copy her silly antics. She loves his attention and is easily soothed by Sam reading her a book, singing her a song, or giving her kisses and hugs. I love watching them get along so well!
- Emma is quite the wiggly worm, thus creating many reject pictures...

Sam had to get in on the picture taking action...

Why are the best pictures always so blurry?!

Please Touch Museum

We LOVE the children's museum! It has so many different areas to explore and we always leave wanting more. I would go here every day if we lived closer and if it didn't cost an arm and a leg to get in! I took way too many pictures when we went there last week. While Sam was playing and using his imagination, I played with my camera :) Emma was really enjoying it too. I will feel a bit better about going here when she is walking and not putting everything in her mouth, but we made it work. Here are a few highlights...
At the hospital...
 The dump truck...

He did not stay still for long and the lighting was poor, so it was hard to not get blur in my pictures...
 Emma's newest trick...
The boat actually moved up and down...

 Music station...
His favorite part, the city bus...

The worker was so kind to help me get a picture, too bad it didn't really turn out... :)

I just thought this was hilarious... She was way too short for the water table, but wanted to play sooo bad!

 More city bus...
Filing the car tires... They also had a gas pump that he loved!
 Mr. Vet...
Another new Emma trick... She pulled her self to stand up!

Another favorite part. The digger that actually moves to pick up the balls!
 The monorail...
So serious about his work at the grocery store...

 Little patient Emma...

Lutz Family Visit

Bud's parents and sister came into town for the long weekend. We made the most of their visit and crammed a lot of activities into our days. The kids loved having all the attention. Thanks for coming Fred, Sue, and Ketti. We missed you Gretchen and Tim!

Reading Terminal Market...
Leaving the Liberty Bell...
 Independence Hall...
The giant slide at Smith Playground...

Hurricane Irene

Samuel and I went and played in the rain during Hurricane Irene last week. The wind didn't pick up at first, so it was still pretty calm but raining like crazy. Perfect for some dancing and splashing in the puddles!
