A break through!!

Actually... we have had 2 break throughs this past week.
1. Samuel likes to eat solids!! Well, at least carrots and green beans. We tried oatmeal and rice cereal numerous times in the past month. However, he never really liked them. He would not let us get the spoon in, push the food right back out, and make a miserable face. We finally tried carrots last week and he LOVED them. He opened his mouth wanting more over and over again! We've now introduced green beans as well... they were also a hit. We'll go back to the cereal in a few weeks, but we'll just stick to the veggies for now.

2. He's taking longer naps! If you have talked to me at all in the past 2 months, I have probably mentioned how frustrating his napping has been. Usually 30 -45 minutes long, several times a day. We had tried so many different methods to try to get him to take longer naps (sleeping with him, crying it out, naps in the swing, etc.) and nothing seemed to make a permanent difference. Well, I guess this was the good that came out of being sick... he now sleeps for at least an hour, sometimes two for most of his naps! Yeah Sam! This allows me to be so much more productive with house work, work prep, and school projects! In fact... right now he's still slepping (1.5 hours and counting) and thus we are not at church. I hate to wake him up since he is still pretty new at the long nap :)
