Preschool

We started a preschool co-op a couple of weeks ago. It's been fun so far! We have a great little set up where we teach for one week, help one week, and then have two weeks off. So far, I've taught once and helped once, so I'm really looking forward to dropping Samuel off next week! I'm kind of sad to be missing the fun though :)

We have a little schedule set, but it's pretty loosely followed because the kids are so young. Sometimes, they just need to stop structured activities and play... or run around and scream at the top of their lungs. Our different activities include:

- a lesson (Based on a theme (last week snowmen, this week bugs) including a letter of the week, number, shape, Bible verse, and Catechism question.)

- calendar/weather (They love to dress up the bear for the weather.)

- structured play (Related to the theme and ideas that are being taught... sorting, counting, etc.)

- art,

- music,

- books,

- snack, lunch, and free time.

They have had so much fun together, and come home exhausted (and napped really well). We have taught specific lessons, but they are also learning sharing, social interaction, listening, and following directions. It's neat to hear Samuel talk about things that he learned at preschool at random times throughout the next week!
