Five Months Old

Here's my big girl at five months old...
Emma is such a sweet girl. Here's a glimpse into Emma's world at five months...
- She wiggles and squirms all over the place. She frequently turns circles while playing on the ground, scoots to the edge of her crib to grab her stuffed animals or reach for her mobile, and rolls from side to side to find toys.
- She smiles and laughs frequently. Mostly at her brother. He's the best thing ever according to Emma... hopefully soon he'll feel the same about his sister, we're getting closer! :)
- Teeth? Where are you? I know I said they were here last month, but they haven't moved since then... might have even gone backwards, if that's possible. :) They are right there, you can see them right under the surface. Two doctors have confirmed they can feel them and several friends and family have said the same. But, they have yet to push through! Hopefully soon.
- We're working on sitting up, but she still needs a lot of assistance. She sat with the Boppy pillow around her for about a minute today before falling on her side. She frequently tries to sit up when lying on her back, always working on her abs!
- We gave her some rice cereal yesterday! She's been reaching for my food a lot lately and really interested when watching us eat. Also, she's been sleeping a bit more fitfully at night. So, we gave it a try... Pictures of that coming soon.
- Her sleep is unpredictable again... I still expect her to sleep from 7 to 7, but she's been waking in the middle of the night a few times a week (sometimes a couple of times). However sometimes, she'll sleep till 10 (with a 6 or 7 AM feeding). I don't know what to expect anymore... but I can't complain that she sleeps so late in the morning!! :)
- She sleeps with a blanket now. She's so cute with her left thumb in her mouth and her right hand rubbing the blanket on her cheek. Love it! It's also made her a bit more flexible in where she sleeps as blanket = sleep... as long as we have the blanket she can fall asleep. She even napped on the couch with me yesterday (that has not happened since she was a few weeks old)!
