FOUR!

My little baby boy is now four years old! He won't let me keep him little, and is so excited about being four. It was so fun to celebrate with him this year as he really understood what was going on and remembered a lot about birthdays from last year and from his friends birthdays. As soon as he started stirring, we sang to him and he was a little confused that his birthday was, "now, right now, now I'm four? Where's my four shirt?" Oops, Mommy didn't know it was important to have a four shirt, so we made one yesterday. He also remembered making his three for his wall last year and wanted to make a four... we improvised and made a felt road four with cars and, of course, a trash truck.
We get to celebrate so many times over this week, which will be great as he was a little let down today that his birthday was over. Our family always loves to spread birthdays out as long as possible. :) On the actual day, we brought rice krispie treats to Bible Study, went out for pizza, opened a few gifts, and made and ate brownie cake.
This year, he was also very curious to know, "Why is today my birthday?" So we got to talk about his birth and show him pictures of him as a little baby, and he was actually interested. At least for a little bit.

They made him a four pizza! We asked for pepperonis in the shape of a four, but it didn't really turn out. So they insisted on making him a four pizza. The chef really got into making it just right. So we got this as we were paying our bill, but it was yummy leftover. :)
